Who we are

BaltiCities is a joint project between Finland and the Baltic countries (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania) to raise awareness of the Baltic Sea and promote the state of the Baltic Sea, especially its coastal areas.

Content of the service

The homepage contains campaign information, user uploaded videos and information related on BaltiCities and Baltic Seashore Stories project. More detailed information on the topics can be found in the main menu.

Uploading media

If you upload videos to the website, you might want to upload videos without embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Please note, that other visitors on this website can’t access your uploaded videos directly.

If you upload videos to Baltic Seashore Storie campaign, your videos and related information will be delivered to Finnish Environment Institute and Videotiiviste Oy and may be shared with project partners.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

Who we share your data with

Your data is only used for BaltiCities project and Baltic Seashore Stories campaign.

Your data may be therefore shared only with BaltiCities project partners. This data includes only the data fields you have provided while uploading videos to the service.

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

Where your data is sent

Visitor comments, file uploads, opt-ins on forms and other input may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Your data provided while uploading a video file is sent to File Request Pro service and forwarded to Google Workspace by Alphabeth Inc.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
